Ana and Kwame: How a Brazilian and a Ghanaian Built Love 8,000km Apart
*This is a real story. Names kept with the couple's permission.*
Ana, 32, a Portuguese teacher in São Paulo, and Kwame, 35, a software engineer in Accra, Ghana, met on Casar com Africano in March 2022.
Kwame's first message was simple: "Could you teach me one Portuguese word per day?"
"I laughed a lot at that message. But I replied. And I never stopped replying." — Ana
They overcame distance, cultural differences and bureaucratic challenges to get married in October 2023 — first in a traditional Ghanaian ceremony in Accra, then in a Brazilian party in Salvador.
"Don't be afraid of the distance. Don't be afraid of the differences. The love that crosses the ocean is the strongest there is."
